Hey everyone, I hope you are having an incredible day today. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a distinctive dish, squash and onions. One of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I will make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

While the onions are cooking, go ahead and slice the squash. You want to wash the squash first of course, then cut off both ends. I cut off most of the smaller long end of the squash as well, as it will cook much quicker than the bigger slices. You can keep it and slice it if you like.

Squash and Onions is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. It is easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. They are fine and they look fantastic. Squash and Onions is something which I’ve loved my whole life.

The ingredients needed to make Squash and Onions:
  1. Get 2 cup yellow squash
  2. Get 1/2 cup chopped onion Vidalia
  3. Make ready 3 tbsp butter
  4. Make ready 2 tbsp bacon grease
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt, pepper&garlic powder or whatever seasonings you prefer
  6. Get 1 fresh herbs
  7. Get 1 tbsp butter
  8. Prepare 1 season to taste

Instructions Melt butter over medium-low heat in a skillet. And while squash casserole and squash fritters are always toward the top of my list, classic Squash and Onions is probably my favorite way to use up the bounty of yellow squash we end up with every summer. I've said it so many times, but it bears repeating… I just love simple, classic flavors. Next, add in the chopped squash, salt, pepper, garlic powder and sugar and stir well.

Instructions to make Squash and Onions:
  1. Melt bacon grease and butter
  2. Add in onions. I also add some green or orange bell peppers for color. Cook about 5 minutes
  3. Add in squash you may also add some green zucchini for color. Stir and mix well.
  4. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover with lid and simmer for 25 min stirring occasionally.
  5. Add another tbsp of butter taste and adjust seasonning to your liking.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

I've said it so many times, but it bears repeating… I just love simple, classic flavors. Next, add in the chopped squash, salt, pepper, garlic powder and sugar and stir well. My preference is for the squash to be a bit translucent and soft, so I tend to let mine go an extra minute or two. Caramelized (Stir-Fried) Squash and Onions: Use only bacon drippings or oil, cooking onions first over medium high heat until lightly browned. Use a slotted spoon to remove onion and set aside.
