Fry the red chile peppers, cumin seeds, and whole cloves in the hot oil until the cumin seeds begin to splutter; stir the onion paste into the mixture and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown. Rajma or rajma masala is a vegan red kidney beans curry popular in North India, particularly in the province of Punjab. A traditional Punjabi meal will usually have rajma chawal in it, that is red kidney beans curry and rice.

  1. Prepare 100 g Rajma
  2. Prepare 1 onion
  3. Take 2 tablespoon jeera powder
  4. Take 1 tablespoon chilli powder
  5. Take 1 tablespoon tumeric powder
  6. Make ready Salt (as per taste)
  7. Get 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  8. Prepare 1/2 tablespoon jeera

In fact both the beans as well as this curried dish is called as Rajma. Another name for this dish is Rajma Masala - where Rajma refers to the beans and Masala means a spiced gravy. Instructions to make Rajma curry:
  1. Soak rajma for 6-8 hours in water. And pressure cook it for 5-6 whistles.
  2. Take a preheated pan and add oil and put jeera. After jeera sprinkles add finely chopped onions. Saute it till it becomes translucent. Then add jeera powder.
  3. Add the pressure cooked rajma to it and add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt. Mix it well. Allow it to cook for 15 minutes in medium flame.
